AS A SCHOOL

We are looking to grow our family of schools in a measured way over the next few years.

If you are interested in joining us, we would be happy to talk to school leaders and governors about your options and to share how we believe the Essa Foundation Academies Trust could make a positive difference to the pupils in your school.

It’s good to talk, so whether you would like to exchange an email, talk on the telephone or arrange a visit, please contact Anne Casey, CEO, EFA Trust.

AS A GOVERNOR/TRUSTEE

We are always keen to find potential governors; they are vital to the effectiveness of a school.

Our Local Governing Bodies (LGBs) work with the Principal of the school. They have responsibility for agreeing the school’s development priorities and they regularly monitor and evaluate the school’s progress. They act as a source of challenge and support to the Principal.

LGBs require a range of skills to be effective. They regularly review their skills, assess their needs and recruit where necessary. If you are interested in becoming a local governor, please contact the school directly in the first instance to check for any vacancies and any desired skills.

AS A STAFF MEMBER

We recruit people for attitude and train for skills

We aim to recruit great people. We would rather make no appointment than appoint someone who is not suited to our ethos. For this reason, we clearly articulate our vision, values and expectations when putting together information for applicants and we always give a lot of attention to appointing the right person.

We aim to recruit staff who:

  • are excited by their role and by the prospect of working with young people;

  • love the processes of learning and teaching and are keen to continually develop their own skills;

  • will subscribe to the ethos of the Trust and ‘go the extra mile’ in terms of time and commitment to get the very best from our young people;

  • see break duty as an opportunity to talk to children;

  •  are quick to praise and slow to criticise; and

  •  are not afraid to admit to seeing themselves as potential leaders of the future.

You can be sure we will take time and care in reading your letter; we appreciate how much energy goes into it.
